Jairus: My flesh and blood

There are so many things that can make us happy in this world. But more than all of them, there are only a few that can make us truly happy. For me, there's this one guy who's the reason of my happiness right now. He's my little guy actually. You probably know him 'cause I often talk about him here in my blog. And he's the reason why I fondly call myself Super Mom. Well, it's normal for mothers to love their children this much. But let us be clear, not all moms truly love their sons or daughters. We know how painful or how tragic some stories are. Some abandon their children. Some even kill their own flesh and never gave those babies the chance to live and see this beautiful world. 

But my son is lucky, I am one of those moms who love their child more than they love themselves. I want to thank God for this blessing. No matter how naughty or how grumpy my kid becomes, I will make sure he will feel that he is loved. Jai, Papa loves you as well. Even if he's not with us all the time, I know one day we will stay together in the same roof and we'll make our household full of joy and laughter.

It's Been A Year, Kuya Franz

Death is a natural thing. That fact is a bitter pill to swallow. 
Yesterday, Jairus and I went to my cousin Franz' babang luksa. He passed away last February 29 in a tragic car accident. He got hit by a drunk call center agent while Kuya Franz and his friends were jogging along Neopolitan in SM Fairview. It was a nightmare for his family, for us. Up to now, I can hardly believe that he's gone because every time I remember him, I imagine his lively persona.

It's your first year in heaven, Kuya Franz. You are still alive in our memories, and will forever be. Thank you for guiding us and inspiring us to hold on to each other before it's finally time to let go. I know you are in peace now. Thanks for the memories. Until next time, see you.

Super Mom Chronicles: Electrolux HUSH Happier at Home

Before anything else, let me introduce you to my household. They are in stick form, though. The family has grown bigger, now with Jairus joining the tribe. My younger siblings are still studying and my parents are working on weekdays. As for me, I'm tied up babysitting and freelancing at oDesk. The only time we get to bond are during weekends. And the perfect bonding activity? Doing a general cleaning on Saturdays--altogether!

That is the usual scenario every Saturdays. I really have to Thank God every Friday as the next day will be a day dedicated to what my mom fondly calls "decluttering". For me it's "hard work". But I'm used to that kind of life especially now that I have a son. Talking about my son, my little darling is now one month and five days old. Jairus, just like any infant, naps almost all the time. But he's become sensitive now when he hears a noise. He gets easily troubled by sounds around him.

Thus, I'm wondering if I should still pursue with my plan of buying a new vacuum cleaner. My mother advised me not to, since she believes its noise will only interrupt his grandson's peaceful sleep. But guess what, I have a recent discovery that's truly amazing. Electrolux comes up with a new range of appliances that will surely hit the spot of any mom. Hmmm. Hubby's about to come home and we're going to buy a bath tub for baby. Maybe we can go to Robinsons later since MOA is quite far from us. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from taking a stroll at the mall.
